I think we can officially call this the most competitive picks race ever.
After 12 weeks, just 1/100th of a point separates spots one through five in the standings, and there's a mere 4/100th between first and ninth. But as close as things are, the same people keep staying in pretty much the same spots - though there were a few changes over the past two weeks.
Rob grabbed first after Week 11 for the first time all season, but then he promptly blew it last weekend as Chris retook the top spot with his third weekly win of the season. His 37-11, fueled by a 13-2 showing in the NFL, beat Kristy, Cullen, me, Amy and Lonnie by two games. Still, Rob remains in second while Kristy stands alone in third despite being one of only four contestants who has yet to register a weekly triumph. Cullen has climbed to fifth, and I have fallen all the way to fifth.
Either we're all really good or we're all really bad, but nobody can seem to pull away.
In other news, as Cullen pointed out, Amy did indeed notch her first triumph of 2008 in Week 11 with a 34-11, though dad and Lane - the missing picks - actually did make things interesting with scores of 33-12 and 32-13, respectively.
I would remind you that I still haven't received entry coconuts from a number of you. You know who you are.
Here are the standings, followed by the games. We have a coveted Wednesday MAC contest, so don't forget.

I'll take the upset-minded Directional Michigan over Nutsack A&M.
BALL STATE
I guess I too will go with Scrotum Tech.
Lonnie and Cheryl both take BALL STATE
ACC
MIAMI at Georgia Tech (The Hurricanes are my favorite BCS team)
North Carolina State at UNC (My favorite sweater is Carolina Blue!)
Clemson at UVA (Clemson sure had a disappointing season)
BC at Wake Forest (BC's coach has a name that's hard to spell)
Duke at VT (I hope everyone's emotionally healed from that campus shooting)
FSU at Maryland (I can't wait to see 4 Christmases!)
SEC
Tennessee at VANDY (The ACC comments were ghostwritten by a female. The moral is to be glad that Kristy, Amy and Cheryl don't make comments)
Citadel at FLORIDA (The Village People should think about making a comeback)
Arkansas at MISS ST (It's ok for a guy to carry a purse. Where else am I going to keep my NAMBLA membership card?)
Mississippi at LSU (Ooh, go Tigers. Growl! I am going to drink so many spritzers this weekend!)
SoCon (The SEC comments were ghostwritten by Lane. The moral is to not grab your ankles around Lane. I can joke about him because apparently he doesn't fight back and write long dissertations)
Furman at WOFFORD (I watched that FU-GSU game last week and can safely say that Furman beat themselves)
ELON at Puberty (The Flames are Lane's favorite team)
SAMFORD & SON at Chattanooga (I think Samford exceeded all expectations for their performance in the SoCon. Oddly enough, so has UTC)
ASU at Western Carolina (Elon surprised me last week. They definitely made App play poorly)
Big 12/Pac 10 headliners
Stanford at CAL (I think in all of the years in this pool, no one has ever referenced pubic hair. If any9one did it was probably Ed)
ORGAN ST at Arizona (Arizona will lose to big organs, just look at the Presidential election. C'mon, we all know Obama is hung like a water buffalo)
Texas Tech at OKLAHOMO (The Pooners are going to ruin Rob's dreams)
Scratchers
Ball State at FUCKING CENTRAL MICHIGAN (way to go idiots. And I had to listen to that nutsack announcer refer to them as the Chips constantly. I kept waiting for Erik Estrada to show up)
Miami at TOLEDO (I think the reason I was making up ground in the pool was the lack of MAC games to pick. I guess I will know drop back with the likes of Lonnie)
BUFFALO at Blowing Green
FRESNO ST at San Jose State
WET VAGINA at Louisville
RICHMOND at William & Mary
New Hampshire at MAINE VEIN
Colorado State at WYOMING
Central Florida at MEMPHIS

AKRON at Ohio
McNeese State at C.ARKANSAS
Brigham Young at UTAH
Pittsburgh at CINCY
IOWA at Minnesota (in thanks for them knocking out Penn St)
Connecticut at S.FLORIDA
NFL
Cincinnati at PITZBURG (Roethlisberger v Fitzpatrick may set a record for longest QB names in the same game)
TB at Detroit (I hope the undercover gay QB can beat the overweight black QB)
New York Jets at TENNESSEE (I hope the recovering alcoholic QB can beat the painkiller addicted QB)
Buffalo at KC (c'mon Chiefs, you owe me one. I'm just hoping the generic white QB can beat the generic white QB)
CHICAGO at St. Louis (Neckbeard & The Bulge sounds like a good 70's buddy comedy)
NEW ENGLAND at Miami (I want to believe but I don't think the Wildcat will work this time)
MINNY at Jacksonville
Philadelphia at BALTIMORE
Houston at CLEVELAND STEAMER
San Francisco at PHALLUS
Oakland at DENVER
WASHINGTON at Seattle (We may see Shaun Alexander's revenge!)

Furman at WOFFORD (Alright, I really want to rant about last week's game. Forgive me but I froze my ass off sitting there watching the absolute shit-bomb that Bobby Lamb threw out there last week, so I earned it. I've never, ever, seen such a total pussy job of coaching in my life. First off, Furman's crack coaching staff had two weeks to plan for Georgia Southern. Now I think they changed quarterbacks, but still, when you let the visiting team march down the field in under 3 minutes and score off the opening kickoff, something in the preparation is missing. But when you fail, constantly, to move the ball at all on offense, that's a whole different story. It's not like Southern went off their normal gamplan on defense. And the crack staff couldn't figure out one single thing that would work against that defense all day long, save a few drives. And on those drives, there was nothing from the coaching and playcalling that showed me in the stands, or I assume the players on the field that the coaches felt that they had a chance in this game. For instance, at the end of the first half, instead of taking one shot at a TD that would cut it to 17-7, the Dins just lined up for a field goal and still had to kick off again. Nobody I talked to woul dhave done that. Then there was the fourth and four at the GSU 43 where they decided that a quick kick would work. The kick would have barely even gotten a first down as I think Sorrels kicked it 8 yards. I'm so fucking frustrated with this coaching staff. They need to go, it's time. Unfortunatley, Furman doesn't fire coaches... Fuckers.)

ACC
MIAMI at Georgia Tech Now I remember - Randy Shannon is the coach.
North Carolina State at SQUEALS State couldn't win this game when UNC sucked.
Clemson at VIRGINIA Rob's been desperately trying to sell the importance of this game to me. I guess he has a point: If Virginia makes it to the ACC championship, they can handle the crowd at Paladin Stadium so there will be no need to make that expensive trip to Florida in this shaky economy, and, two, if Virginia somehow won the ACC championship it would be perhaps the biggest step yet toward embarrassing the BCS out of existence. So, GO CAVS!
BC at Wake Forest Anybody else notice Wake sliding back to mediocrity? Grobe better start listening to offers again.
Duke at HOKEY POKEYS I'm starting to think Duke may not go to a bowl after all. I'm also starting to think they won't beat anyone this year worse than they beat Virginia.
NOLES at Maryland The Twerps are really pissing me off.
SEC
Tennessee at DANDY Boy, this is exactly the kind of game Dandy doesn't win. Favored? Over Tennessee? At home? They can't wipe the throw up off of themselves fast enough.
Citadel at GATORS WTF?
Arkansas at MSU I can find no reason to pick either of these teams.
Mississippi at LSU Assuming the Rebels are up 40 going into the fourth.
SoCon
Furman at WOFFORD Against Elon, App and Southern this year: 34 total Furman points. Sorrells: 1 touchdown, 4 interceptions. Fans: Thrilled we have another season with the athletically challenged coach's son under center. So THIS is what it was like to root for North Henderson at the end of Mac Cumbo's career.
feELONme at Liberty Speaking of wacky Christian schools, did you guys hear that Bob Jones has apologized for its racist past? That's all fine and good, but when are they going to apologize for uglying up so many potentially hot young girls and parading them up and down Wade Hampton Blvd. all day? It's like bizarro-Lexington Avenue.
SLAMFORD at Chattanooga I still don't know their mascot. Is it Bob Brackett?
SNATCHALACHIAN at Western Carolina The ACT remains convinced that this is a rivalry game.
Big 12/Pac 10 headliners
Stanford at GOLDEN BEARS It just hit me that having a "bears" mascot in the San Francisco bay area may not mean what we've all assumed it meant this whole time.
Oregon State at ARIZONA Pubic hair. There. I said it.
TEXAS TECH at Oklahoma What the hell.
Scratchers
GONAD ACADEMY at Central Michigan Thank God Chris didn't pick Central Michigan. They would have won in seven overtimes.
Miami at MUD HENS
Buffalo at BLOWING GREEN I can't let it go. Really, Chris? Buffalo in OT on the road in consecutive weeks? DAMMIT!
FRESNO at San Jose State
THE OTHER MOUNTAINEERS at Louisville
SPIDERS at William & Mary
New Hampshire at MAINE But anything can happen in the battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket
COLORADHO STATE at Wyoming Neither has a defense, but at least one has an offense. Fun fact: The Cowboys have held only one team all season under 10 points: Tennessee.
Central Florida at MEMPHIS UCF is terrible.
Illinois at NORTHWESTERN But I don't feel good about it.
ZIPS at Ohio
MCNEESE at Central Arkansas
Brigham Young at UTES Bring on Virginia in the BCS!
Pittsburgh at THE OTHER BEARCATS I have no idea how to pick either of these teams.
HAWKEYES at Minnesota
Connecticut at SOUTH FLORIDA
NFL
Cincinnati at SHITTSBURGH
New York Jets at TITANS I liked Kerry Collins better as the alcoholic racist who got beat up by his teammates and frequented Charlotte nudie bars. What's next, Morgan Freeman playing the grizzled, wise, sad-eyed protagonist in "The Rae Carruth Story"?
Buffalo at CHIEFS Trent Edwards - turns out he's not so good.
DA BEARS at St. Louis
SCREW ENGLAND at Miami
Minnesota at JACKSONVILLE
Philadelphia at BALLSMORE
Houston at BROWNS
San Francisco at PHALLUS
Oakland at DENVER
SKINS at Seattle But I don't feel good about it.
GIANTS at Arizona Ditto
PANTHERS at Atlanta Unless Jake throws for more than 86 yards.
Indianapolis at CHARGERS
Green Bay at SAINTS
Since I am bored as hell with the Thanksgiving games, I went ahead and tallied up the W/L for this week. Once again I only have the results for the picks posted on the message board...
